Amiga PD CharitywareAmiga PD is a charityware site - if you download any disk images you are encouraged to donate to our chosen charity - Mencap - at our justgiving page.
Suggested donations are £1 per disk image download as this was the cost of obtaining a disk back in the 1990s. Thank you. |
AMIGAPDs SEUCK COMPETITION - CASH PRIZES - DEADLINE 1st OCTOBER 2011
The title pretty much says everything you need to know - AmigaPd have launched a SEUCK competition for the Amiga. The idea came from visiting the SEUCK Vault website where they hold regular C64 SEUCK design competitions and I thought it was unfair that the Amiga missed out. In the future other Game competitions will be held using different game creating software such as Backbone - Grac and perhaps even Amos.
Rules
Not too many rules - I would like to keep this as simple as possible:
1. The game has to be created using SEUCK for the Amiga
2. The game will be submitted as an email attachment (email address will be provided soon) - If you have to send the submission on a physical disk then email the request to the email address which will appear here.
3. The work has to be your own - no resubmitting completed SEUCK such as Air Ace 2 or Raid and passing it off as your own work.
4. You can work in small teams but must tell me who you would like the prize to be sent to if you win.

Prizes
First prize will be £30 - sent as a cheque to the winner or as a paypal transfer - which ever is easiest.
Second Prize will be a collection of Amiga Public Domain Cds - including Now That's What I Call Games 3 which contains over 100 Public Domain / Shareware games.

Then why not visit our Top Ten SEUCK page to see previous games made with SEUCK.
If you have never used SEUCK why not read my Blog to pick up some tips as I work on my own SEUCK game.

Still Stuck for Ideas
Why not look at Youtube for 8 Bit / 16 Bit and Arcade shooters - you will probably soon find a game that appeals and could easily be made using SEUCK - Below are some ideas.
Keep it Simple - Galaga 88Something similar to single screen shooter Galaga 88 could be possible.
Push Scroll Games - Spy HunterSEUCK has a push scroll option for the levels so something along the lines of Spy Hunter could be possible.
|
Something more complex - Slap FightA slightly more complex scrolling game - but with patience the graphics should be easy to replicate on the Amiga with SEUCK.
Single Screen Games - RobotronThe last type of game which could be possible is a single screen game similar to the classic Robotron or Smash TV.
