CATALOGUE -
Amiga Public Domain Games - ABelow are some screen shots and brief descriptions of games beginning with A which appeared in public domain libraries - some games may be shareware or licenceware as well as public domain. I will try to clearly identify the licenceware games and update the status if they become freeware.
Some games I have not played in depth but just loaded to check the disk image worked and I will potentially return to them in future months to review them. I have also indicated some games which I personally recommend. |

Ace the Space Case
Platform game - good controls and nice graphics - worth a game or two.
Act of War AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED ****
Laser Squad clone only a few missions - I think you had to pay the author for extended game and extra missions.

Quite a nice looking SEUCK game - If you have an open mind about SEUCK games you may enjoy this.
Air Flight
Based on C64 game called super dog fight - quite dull
Air Taxi AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED *****
Collect passengers and earn money - 1 -5 player - This game is in most people's top ten multi player games.
Air Mania
Awful game - don't know if it gets better but all I played involved moving along the screen left to right avoiding things.
Alien Bash
Alien Breed / Chaos Engine clone but would recommend the sequel.
Alien Bash 2 AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED *****
Chaos Engine clone - nice graphics fun for a while but can become repetitive - The AI isn't as good as the Bitmap game which is a shame.
Alien Fight
Space invaders - ok version.
Alien Fish Finger - AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED *****
Great little platform game - Think this was shareware originally. Small sprites but good level design and well worth playing.
Alien Network Versus Olympus
Another ok version of space invaders.
Aliens
Yet another ok version of space invaders.
All Rounder Cricket
Just sit and watch the cricket play cricket all you do is choose bowler and batsmen.
Alpha Fight
Two player race game - could be fun for a while.
Am Tank AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED ***
Not a bad version of tanks - they are better versions such as Tanks and Scorched Tanks.
Amega Race
Seems to be like Asteroids.
Ami Mind
Remember that board game of mastermind where you chose a code made up of 4 colours and the other person has to guess the code. This is that game on the computer.
Amiga Columns 2
If you like Columns you will probably like this. Personally I preferrred tetris.
Amiga Laser Zone AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED ****
Nice simple shoot em up. You control two ships. One that moves horizontal and one that moves vertically. Becomes quite challenging.

If you liked Nintendo Dogs you will probably like this.
Amiga Boy Tetris AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED ****
Great version of tetris and it brings back those great memories of playing this in the 80's.

Looks like this could be a good strategy game but I need to read the instructions.

Arknoid clone but how many clones of this game do you need?

This looks like it could be a good little puzzle game - will probably return to it and give it a proper play.
AMOS Cricket
Could have chosen a better screenshot showing the main game action - in this version of cricket you do get to control the bowler and batsmen.
Android Arena
Think it's like Smash TV.
Angband
RPG game - First impression suggests it could be like Moria, Nethack e.t.c.
Angus 2
Shoot Em with nice graphics - won't make you want to come back but worth a few minutes play.
Apple Catcher
Catch the bouncing apples - if you don't you lose a life - similar to game and watch games in its simplicity.
Apple Hunnt
Boulder dash but with ..... apples.
Aquanaut -AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED *****
Licenceware - this game is not public domain but was F1 Licenceware. If you can get this game you will enjoy it - a great little shoot em up
Arazmam
Shoot the enemies to clear the level and repeat.
Arcadia
Its arkanoid but its called Arcadia - if you have megaball I doubt you need another Arkanoid clone.
Angus
First installment of shoot em up fun.

Puzzle game - can't remember how you play it - nice presentation.
Asteroids - AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED *****
It's Asteroids - one of my all time favourites.
Astro Chase
Didn't seem to be much to do in this game.
Astrokid
Simple shoot em up - move the target over the aliens and blast.
Astrotrek
Foreign Star trek game.
Atom Smasher - AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED ****
Bomberman graphics - collect items and kill the enemies on the screen. Was released on various Amiga Magazines cover disks.
Atomic - AMIGAPD RECOMMENDED ****
Simple puzzle game - send the balls along the tracks and change the points to send them in the right direction to get to them home square.
Atomic 2 -
I think this is licenceware - it is definately an update of Atomic above.
Avalance
Puzzle game - collect the balls and drop them in order below into the container.
Avina Blue
Move your space ship along the maze avoiding hit things.
The Acorn Court
Text adventure.
The Age of Rock
Think this is a version of tetris.
The Amazing Adventure of Harry Haddock
Platform game with nice graphics - quite slow paced although I didn't play the game through to later levels.
The Awakening
Another type in text adventure.
