ABANDONWARE IS NOT FREEWARE
The AmigaPd website will only host Amiga game images which are either public domain or where the original programmer has given permission for the game(s) to be included.
AmigaPd would like to remind users that Abandonware is not the same as Freeware. Abandonware is discontinued software which no longer has support. Software classed as abandonware is not public domain as it has never had its original copyright revoked and some company or individual still owns exclusive rights. Identifying which company or idividual has the rights can be difficult due to companies changing their names, going bankrupt, entering into mergers, or cease to exist for a variety of reasons.
Downloading abandonware software is usually considered copyright infringement as there is usually still an active company which owns the exclusive rights to the game although they are no longer supporting or distributing the software.

FREEWARE
Freeware is software which available for free although the programmer may have conditions linked to the softwares use or distribution. AmigaPd is currently working on a list of links to websites which have legal rights to distribute former Amiga commercial games as Freeware.
