Ok - start at the beginning - lets read the manual for Amos 1.2 - to load a game press the Amiga key and L - hmmm - no amiga key on my laptop - however discovered that holding right mouse button brings up load option and then clicking left mouse button execs the command.

So the first program the manual shows is number_leap.

Hmmm - number lead seems to crash - Wondered if it was because I configued Winuae to Amiga 1200 - but got same response when using Amiga 500 configuration.

This has not started well.

UPdate - Have now got number leap to load - played the game - then crashed my computer - (or Emulated Amiga ) - I wonder if thi

Choosing a game

This was easy - the game I want to make is the game I submitted to the Amiga power design a game competition - See issue 21 - Amiga Power Jan 1993 - I will try to get a link from Amiga Magazine Rack.

Amos Programming Challenge !!!

Today sees the launch of a new section to AmigaPd - a tutorial section which will record my struggles to learn Amos to create a new public domain game for the Amiga - hopefully this will inspire others to learn Amos / basic and make new games for the Amiga.

I have never written any code for the Amiga and have only recently got into programming by attending some IT courses on website design - the usual CSS and HTML - although shamefully I do not use them for this site mainly due to time constraints.

Chris Clarke - Founder of Amiga Pd - I have always wanted to write my own Amiga games but back in the 1990s I was too lazy to learn coding - now a bit older - not necessary wiser - I am going to start learning AMOS - this blog will record my progress / frustrations.
